Sohonos is a residential enclave conceived as an immersive retreat within an expansive natural landscape of verdant hills and backwaters. Developed and designed by NAVA, the project brings together villas and apartments within a carefully composed environment where architecture and terrain operate as one continuous system.
The master plan prioritizes orientation, privacy, and view. Buildings are positioned to capture long, unobstructed sightlines while maintaining a sense of seclusion from neighboring residences. The architecture mediates between openness and protection — framing horizon and sky while filtering light, climate, and exposure.
At Sohonos, landscape is not an amenity; it is the foundation of the experience. The project is defined by air, shadow, texture, and material — creating a residential environment that is calm, immersive, and enduring.
The architectural language is grounded in proportion, depth, and layered surfaces. Upper levels are wrapped in perforated wood screens that filter sunlight and produce shifting patterns of shadow throughout the day. Deep overhangs and recessed glazing temper heat and glare, reinforcing environmental performance through passive strategies.
The buildings are structured with reinforced concrete frames and expressed through laterite masonry, natural stone, and aluminum-framed glazing. Materials are selected for durability, tactility, and regional resonance. Rather than relying on ornament, the project establishes identity through rhythm, massing, and material clarity.
